1973 Carrera RS 2.7 — the full restoration of no. 1512
Two years of work on one of the rarest 911s: drivetrain and body, preserved true to the original. Here is the process, documented.
The car
The Carrera RS 2.7 of 1973 is one of the most legendary cars from Zuffenhausen. For use in Group 4 / Special GT, Porsche built a total of 1,580 examples in 1972/73. The basis was the 911 2.4 S — joined by the larger engine with 2,687 cc, larger brakes, an adapted suspension, the Fuchs alloy wheels, the side lettering and the "ducktail" at the rear.
No. 1512 is one of the very last RS models: built and delivered at the end of 1973, registered in Germany ever since. One of 1,308 Touring versions (M472), with matching numbers for chassis, gearbox and engine — and one of only 79 RS in Viper Green. The car was never used for racing and has been known to our house for more than 30 years.

The restoration, 2013–2015
We took two years for this car. The restoration was complete — the entire drivetrain and the entire body, along with original colour and original equipment. Bodywork, paint, engine and mechanics all ran through our own departments, under one roof.
The benchmark was the delivery condition of 1973. Every part was examined before deciding what would happen to it — following our principle: repair before replacement.

Since its completion in 2015, the car has covered 950 kilometres. It has been sold — the documentation remains.
